Position: Vice President - Liquidations
Location: Cayman Islands

About the Role

Vice President – Liquidations will serve as liquidator to a number of offshore companies, including investment funds and structured finance vehicles.


Primary responsibilities include:


  • Acting, in an individual capacity, as a joint voluntary liquidator to a high volume of Cayman Island’s and British Virgin Island’s companies and partnerships, as well as administering a high volume of liquidations under a corporate liquidator, reviewing transaction documents and financial records, attending meetings, preparation of the liquidation documentation;
  • Coordinating the client acceptance process and delivering high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures;
  • Involved in ad hoc projects, coaching junior team members and may represent MaplesFS at various industry association events.


What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • A University graduate with an excellent academic background;
  • Excellent academic background and an internationally recognized, accounting or legal professional designation and at least 8 years’ relevant financial services experience with at least 5 years providing voluntary liquidation services;
  • liaising with onshore and offshore law firms, the Registrar of Companies and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority is required
  • Managerial experience and a detailed knowledge of the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands voluntary liquidation process
  • A detailed knowledge of the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands voluntary liquidation process as it applies to companies and partnerships is required;
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, relevant local laws and regulatory requirements is a must
  • Able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.  Overtime on short notice will be required.
