Position: Funds Registrations Executive
Location: Dublin

The Global Registration Services team (GRS) is an integral part of one of the largest and the fastest growing Irish investment management practices over the last ten years. The GRS team in particular assists clients with the practical, regulatory, compliance and administrative requirements associated with marketing investment funds globally. 
The team is client facing and has ongoing communication with regulators primarily in Europe but also further afield. The GRS practice consists of 8 Dublin based professionals and operates within the full resources and experience of this global law firms network working collaboratively with colleagues within the Maples Group and also with other network firms to support the work that we perform.   
The team comprises specialist legal, regulatory and compliance experts in cross border investment fund distribution providing a fully integrated and coordinated approach to fund distribution for our clients.

In order to support the continued growth of the GRS team, we are looking for a dynamic Funds Registrations Executive. This role is ideally suited to an investment funds professional with a legal, regulatory and/or compliance background.  The position provides a unique opportunity to join an established and expanding team and to specialise in an area of law and regulatory compliance (predominately Irish and European) which is of ever increasing importance.

Role

As a Funds Registrations Executive, you will manage a portfolio of clients and possess an understanding of the various issues to be considered with regards to fund registration and ongoing regulatory compliance requirements.   

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a self-starter with a keen interest to further develop the practical knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to financial services and specifically the distribution of funds, both in Ireland and other jurisdictions;
  • Possess a detailed understanding of the various issues to be considered with regards to fund registration and ongoing regulatory compliance requirements;
  • Possess excellent legal, compliance, analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail and have the strength to accomplish objectives in a disciplined way;
  • Provide skilful advice on and support the cross border distribution of various fund ranges across the globe;
  • Coach more junior team members (and temporary staff who work with the team), communicate with other team members about status and plans for week/month ahead;
  • Possess a strong sense of duty and responsibility;
  • Be flexible, hard-working, disciplined, a meticulous team player and able to perform under pressure;
  • Be confident in dealing with other team members and clients, including presenting to colleagues and clients;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills (English), a second European language is desirable.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience working within a legal, regulatory/compliance role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment, ideally hold a graduate degree in law, finance, or similar qualifications and possess prior experience in the distribution of investment funds with experience reviewing and interpreting regulatory legislation with particular focus on UCITS and AIFMD.
