Maples Advises CK Hutchison on US$2 Billion Guaranteed Notes Issue

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to announce that its Hong Kong practice has advised CK Hutchison International (21) Limited on its guaranteed notes issue of US$2 billion guaranteed notes, which closed on 15 April 2021.  The notes were issued in three tranches consisting of: (1) US$500,000,000 principal amount of 1.500% guaranteed notes due 2026; (2) US$850,000,000 principal amount of 2.500% guaranteed notes due 2031; and (3) US$650,000,000 principal amount of 3.125% guaranteed notes due 2041.  The notes are guaranteed by CK Hutchison Holdings Limited and listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited.

CK Hutchison Holdings Limited is a renowned multinational conglomerate committed to innovation and technology.

A team based in the Group's law firm in Hong Kong acted as Cayman Islands counsel and was led by Finance Partner, Everton Robertson and Legal Manager, Jessica Zhan.

Shearman & Sterling acted as US legal counsel to the issuer and guarantor whilst Allen & Overy acted as US counsel to the initial purchasers, Merrill Lynch (Asia Pacific) Limited, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Deutsche Bank AG, Hong Kong Branch, Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C., DBS Bank Ltd., Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. and SMBC Nikko Capital Markets Limited.
