OVERVIEW

Ben serves as an independent director on a wide range of alternative investment funds including hedge funds, fund of funds, segregated portfolio companies, private equity vehicles and related structures.  Ben has over 20 years' experience in the alternative investment industry, 10 of which were dedicated to operational due diligence and fund governance.   

BACKGROUND

Previously, Ben was responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the University of Toronto Asset Management operational due diligence program in its oversight of all external investment managers and service providers.  Prior to this, he was a Senior Manager at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board where he performed multiple operational roles including investment related compliance functions, fund level management reporting, public equity accounting and establishment of an operational due diligence function for the external manager investment program. Ben also worked at Fortis Prime Fund Solutions (Fortis) in the Cayman Islands where he was employed in fund administration culminating as head of the Cayman office's internal control function.
