OVERVIEW

Irena is of counsel of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's Hong Kong office. She has been practising offshore law since 2007 and has extensive experience advising clients on both British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands law principally assisting international financial institutions and public companies listed on various stock exchanges on corporate finance transactions. She advises on conventional bilateral and syndication lending, project finance, asset and property financing, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions.

BACKGROUND

Irena first joined the Maples Group in 2007.  She has worked for another international law firm and for Zul Rafique & partners in Malaysia prior to moving to Hong Kong.  Irena is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and Malay.
