22 Jan 2024
Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to have advised Creditsafe Group on the acquisition of the business information unit and its total assets, including operational activities, customers and data, of Editus Luxembourg S.A. The transaction closed on 31 December 2023.
Creditsafe is a global business intelligence expert, specialising in business credit checking and business-to-business ("B2B") solutions, and is a leader in the business information industry. It is the most widely used provider of company credit information, company data and credit reports worldwide. Both Editus and Creditsafe focus on providing customer-focused information solutions to accelerate their customers' long-term growth and economic stability.
A team based in the Maples Group's Luxembourg office acted as Luxembourg counsel to Creditsafe assisting with legal matters regarding the negotiation of the agreement. The team was led by Corporate Partner, Baptiste Aubry, with assistance from Corporate Associate, Timothée Gras.
Commenting on the transaction, Baptiste Aubry, head of the firm's Luxembourg Corporate practice said, "We are proud to have assisted Creditsafe in this remarkable transaction. Creditsafe has been our client for a number of years, and we have supported them on all their Luxembourg corporate and commercial legal matters. The acquisition of the business information unit of Editus strengthens Creditsafe position as a global leader in business intelligence".
Maples and Calder (Luxembourg) SARL provides full service legal advice on Luxembourg matters and has dedicated practices in Corporate, Finance, Funds & Investment Management and Tax, with a deep bench of highly experienced lawyers on the ground. The Maples Group also provides fund and fiduciary services from Luxembourg and the breadth of its combined international capabilities along with its ability to advise on multi-jurisdictional transactions continues to set the law firm apart from its local counterparts.
