08 May 2024
Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP, the Maples Group's law firm in Ireland, has appointed Aidan Kenny as the Head of Innovation, a new position that underscores the firm's dedication to strategic innovation in the legal sector. This appointment builds upon the international law firm's impressive legacy of innovation, highlighted by the recent successful deployment of Harvey AI to its 140 Partners worldwide1.
Based in the firm's Dublin office, Aidan will lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies to evolve existing business models, enhance client experiences and drive growth across the firm's diverse range of practice areas. With an initial focus on enhancing the firm’s full-service offering in Dublin, he will also spearhead the firm's Innovation Hub which will see him working collaboratively with both lawyers and clients to navigate and adopt fast-developing AI technology and tools to ensure that the firm remains at the forefront of innovation developments in the legal industry.
Bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, Aidan is renowned for his innovative leadership across multiple industries, most recently in financial services. Prior to joining the firm, Aidan held innovation leadership positions with Fidelity Investments, one of the largest asset managers in the world, serving as Managing Director and Senior Vice-President in its Irish and Boston offices. These roles included leadership of the Fidelity Centre for Applied Technology in Europe and Managing Director at Fidelity Labs. Prior to this, Aidan led a service innovation consultancy business and was a start-up founder. His proven track-record of implementing transformative strategies aligns seamlessly with the firm's vision for the future of legal services.
"Innovative thinking is one of our core Maples Group values, and we pride ourselves on delivering both market-leading and innovative services and solutions to our clients across our key markets. We are delighted to have Aidan on board, and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to evolve our innovation strategy," commented Peter Stapleton, Ireland Managing Partner.
Aidan added, "It's certainly an exciting time to join the Maples Group and I look forward to building on the firm's existing innovative strategies to enhance the way legal services are delivered to our clients. I am passionate about finding new ways to serve our clients' needs and I am delighted to join a firm that is truly dedicated to innovation."
