Maples Group Adds Senior Restructuring Lawyer to Dublin Practice

Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to announce that its Dispute Resolution & Insolvency practice has appointed Kathlene (Kat) Burke as an Of Counsel in Dublin.

Kat will provide Irish restructuring advice to the firm's European and global clients from Dublin and will work closely with the firm's global Dispute Resolution & Insolvency practices on cross-border matters. Having previously worked with top-tier law firms in both the UK and the US, Kat brings a wealth of legal experience and expertise to the firm. Her extensive background includes complex and contentious in-court schemes and reorganisation cases across Europe, the US and various other jurisdictions.

Its preeminent practice is ranked by all major legal directories in the top-tier categories with its Partners regularly advising international clients who are involved in high-stakes litigation, restructuring and insolvency matters across multiple time zones.  In Ireland, the team is acting as special foreign counsel to the Official Committee of Opioid Claimants in Chapter 11 restructuring proceedings in the United States in respect of the prominent pharmaceutical group Endo International plc and certain of its subsidiaries.  The team also recently acted as special foreign counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of another high-profile pharmaceutical manufacturer, Mallinckrodt plc, in the Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States and the examinership process in Ireland.  Prior to that, the Dublin practice acted for two aircraft lessors in relation to the complex restructuring of the Norwegian Air group through an Irish examinership.
