Sustaining Sustainability: Maples Group Marks 6th Year as Climate Finance Week Ireland Sponsor

Dublin, 20 Nov 2023 I Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP, the Maples Group's law firm, is proud to announce its continuous support as a sponsor of the 6th Climate Finance Week Ireland 2023, marking another year of dedicated partnership.  Since the inception of Climate Finance Week Ireland in 2018, the international law firm has been a key supporter of Ireland’s annual leading sustainable finance event. 

Climate Finance Week Ireland 2023, set to commence today, will delve into the crucial role that organisations play in advancing the sustainable finance agenda within an increasingly challenging global environment. Maples will be at the forefront of this conversation, hosting an engaging interactive discussion themed "Innovation in Sustainable Funds and Asset Management" with distinguished industry leaders and practitioners from Ireland's asset management, finance and corporate sectors in attendance.

Peter Stapleton, Ireland Managing Partner and Global lead on ESG at the Maples Group, expressed his views on the importance of sustainable finance: "A key objective of the Irish government's Sustainable Finance Roadmap is for Ireland to become a leading sustainable finance centre of excellence by 2025. At the Maples Group, we are acutely aware of the profound impact that environmental, social and governance factors, as well as responsible investment can have on the financial services sector, and the positive contributions that this sector can bring to bear on society".

He added: "We are especially proud to have been a key sponsor of Climate Finance Week Ireland since its inaugural event six years ago. Each year, key leaders, influencers, and policymakers in sustainable finance come together to discuss strategic initiatives and to exchange ideas to address the climate crisis. It has been a privilege to help lead and participate in these important conversations and we are committed to playing our small part in securing the change required to secure our planet's future".

The Maples Group's panel discussion takes place at 2.00pm on Tuesday, 21 November at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre. Attendees will hear a keynote address from Peter Stapleton, in addition to contributions from Ian Conlon and Deirdre McIlevnna from the firm's Funds & Investment Management practice as well as professionals from across industry. The event can be attended virtually or in-person.
