Maples Group Appoints New Head of Netherlands Office
16 Feb 2021
The Maples Group has announced the appointment of Yuri Schuurman as Senior Vice President and head of the Netherlands office.
Licensed and regulated by the Dutch Central Bank as a trust office, the Group's Netherlands office provides a range of fiduciary services including registered office, directorship and other corporate administration services to special purpose vehicles and Dutch holding companies. Since establishing operations in Amsterdam in 2015, the business in the Netherlands has experienced consistent growth and now serves as a cornerstone of the firm's wider European and global offering. The Netherlands financial sector remains favourably positioned as a result of its strong economy, developed infrastructure, modern legislative and regulatory framework, and stable business climate.
With a wealth of experience in the provision of accounting and corporate administration services to an international client base, Yuri brings in-depth knowledge on matters related to legal compliance, finance, and complex international corporate structuring, among other areas of expertise. He has held a number of senior roles with a multi-jurisdictional corporate services provider where he managed large teams servicing a multi-national client portfolio. Yuri began his career working for a global audit firm. He holds a degree in Accountancy from the Hogeschool of Amsterdam and a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Control from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Leveraging his extensive experience and expertise, Yuri will be responsible for driving the Group's strategy and growing its Netherlands business, while ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of work and client service.
"Over the last five years, the Maples Group has solidified its position as one of the leading fiduciary services providers in the Netherlands and we continue to see significant opportunities for our business," said Tom Davies, Global Head of Fiduciary for the Maples Group. "We look forward to Yuri's leadership as we navigate the next phase of our growth in this thriving market and are confident that we will continue to deliver outstanding service and best-in-class solutions to our clients with Netherlands-specific requirements."
