Maples Advises Arachas Corporate Brokers Ltd. on its Acquisition of Brian J. Pierce Ltd.

Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to have advised Arachas Corporate Brokers Ltd. ("Arachas") on the Irish corporate legal aspects of its acquisition of Brian J Pierce Ltd.

Arachas is an independent insurance broker that was established 15 years ago through the merger of Cork-based broker, Tyrrell Coakley with two Dublin-based peers, Hodgins Percival and Slattery Jermyn. This is Arachas’s seventh acquisition since 2017 and with more than 300 staff and €350 million a year in gross written premiums, it is now Ireland’s largest independent insurance broker.

Brian J. Pierce Ltd., T/A BJP Insurance Brokers, is the leading provider of insurance cover for the taxi industry. This acquisition is part of Arachas's strategic vision to expand its business and be the leading experts in its field.

A team based in the firm's Irish office advised Arachas on its latest acquisition and was led by Patrick Quinlan, a Partner in the Irish Corporate practice, who was assisted by Associates Morgan Pierse and Emma Sheehy.
