Maples Group Appoints Two Additional Funds Partners in Asia

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of two of its lawyers in Asia.  Effective as of 1 December 2021, Andrew Wood and Josie Ainley were appointed as Partners in the firm's Asia Funds & Investment Management practice further strengthening the depth of senior expertise in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Notably, the firm's Asia Funds & Investment Management practice led by Ann Ng is the largest offshore funds group in Asia and Andrew and Josie's addition to the partnership further consolidates the firm's market-leading position. The practice now comprises a team of 9 Partners and 20 Of Counsel, Associates and Paralegals who are continuously selected to advise on a high volume of new investment funds for some of the largest and most high-profile sponsors and fund managers across Asia and top-tier names globally.  In the past year, the firm collected five "Offshore Firm of the Year" awards1 in addition to over ten deal awards for their role advising on innovative client transactions in the region2.

In addition to the promotions in Asia, the international law firm announced the promotion of 17 lawyers across seven of its international locations this year. In total, there were two promotions in Asia, nine promotions in Europe and six in the Caribbean region.
