Maples Group Receives 2023 Montreal Top Employer Honours

28 Feb 2023

The Maples Group is delighted to announce that for the third year in a row, it has been recognised as one of Montreal's Top Employers.  This distinction is given to employers in the Greater Montreal area that have a proven track record in creating places to work that offer a rewarding overall company culture.  MediaCorp Canada Inc., the publisher of the Canada's Top 100 Employers series, selected the Maples Group for its consistent dedication to providing a workplace experience that retains, supports, and develops leading talent in the area.

Among the criteria cited in the Group's repeat nomination and selection to the list were its robust new graduate training program, tuition assistance, paid study-leave, and social and wellness programmes such as its weekly running club.

The Group launched its Montreal office in October 2009.  Since then, the firm, which provides an array of legal, fund and fiduciary service offerings to the world's leading banks, asset management firms and institutional investors, has embraced the culture, diversity, and educational opportunities the city has to offer.  The office counts 322 full-time staff across accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, project management and information technology, and data management.  The team comprises individuals representing 57 nationalities, speaking 30 languages; and in another indicator of diversity, 54 percent of managers in the Montreal office of Maples are women.

One of the hallmarks of the Group's employee experience is its focus on employee engagement.  Two years ago, the Group launched its Associate Programme in Montreal for new university graduates to spend their first two years with the company rotating through multiple departments. This programme, which takes advantage of the deep talent available from the region's leading universities, affords new graduates the opportunity to develop experience in various skill sets and technologies and gain face time with managers and clients.  In addition, the office offers an array of employee and personal enrichment activities including career weeks, industry-focused fireside chats, mentoring and wellness programmes, socials, and other special events throughout the year.

"Montreal has been a tremendous success for the Maples Group and its clients.  We are especially proud that for the third consecutive year that we have been recognised for our success as an employer", says Tyler Kim, Global Head of Fund Services at the Maples Group.  "We are particularly pleased about the acknowledgement of our Associate Programme for new university graduates.  By way of such talent management programmes, we remain committed to developing the capabilities of our people, enabling them to enhance the broader financial services community around us."
