13 Mar 2023

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to announce that Cayman Islands-based Finance Associate, Hailee Robinson, has commenced her one-year secondment in its Singapore office.

As a recipient of the firm's legal scholarship, Hailee began her career with the international law firm as an intern, and was later accepted as an Articled Clerk before her admission as an attorney-at-law into its Finance practice in the firm's Cayman Islands office.

Commenting on her career with the firm to date, Hailee said, "I am grateful to the Maples Group for the commitment to my professional development and the many Partners, Associates and support team members in both the Cayman Islands and Singapore offices who have supported me in this secondment." She continued, "The Singapore and Hong Kong teams have warmly welcomed me to Asia and I look forward to enhancing my legal skills, working alongside industry leaders in different jurisdictions and experiencing new cultures. I am confident that I will return to the Cayman Islands a more proficient and well-rounded lawyer."

In addition to Hailee joining the Singapore Finance team, the Asia practice also recently welcomed Finance lawyer Zarmina Tirmzi further highlighting the firm's commitment to building the next generation of lawyers and providing world-class services and solutions to its global client base.

Michael Gagie, Regional Managing Partner for Asia, said "We are delighted to welcome Hailee and Zarmina to our Finance team in Asia. A secondment is a valuable learning tool for young professionals offering them the opportunity to experience new jurisdictions and cultures, which is particularly important in a global organisation."

As a global organisation, the Group is pleased to offer its team members the unique opportunity to share knowledge and experience by working alongside industry leaders across multiple jurisdictions. In addition to increasing employees' professional network and fulfilling their career goals, secondments encourage the development of a global mind-set, returning with enhanced skills to support their career progression. With 16 offices worldwide, this global mobility strategy is offered at all levels and is one of the many benefits of working for a truly international organisation that is committed to investing in the training and development of its people.
